In the wake of the Trayvon Martin tragedy, much has been said about and to young Black men. In August 2013, we produced a web series of 17 interviews to hear from young Black men themselves.

"This may not be how you see me. But this is how I see myself"

Forward Ever Media executive produced this micro-documentary for the Center for Law and Social Policy who surveyed nearly 200 youth from across 13 communities to gain better insight into the unique experiences of young people who have dropped out of high school and later reconnected to career and education supports. We asked them to tell us about themselves, share their aspirations and dreams, and describe what supports were most useful in getting them back on track. What we learned was truly inspiring.

In Their Own Words captures the sense of hope and transformation of the young males of color who participated in the survey, and their responses told a much different story about how they saw themselves and their life circumstances than is typically depicted in mainstream media.

Forward Ever Media executive produced "Game Changer," an informational video that provides a brief history of the 2025 Network for Black Men and Boys. The video asks the question: "What can we do to impact the life of a Black boy born in 2007 so that by the time he is 18, in the year 2025, his outcomes for success have significantly improved?" "Game Changer" is available in two versions - short and extended - and includes interviews from national leaders and short, youth-created video blogs. It is a tool for community leaders, advocates, practitioners, activists, scholars, foundation executives and others interested in learning more about the 2025 Network.
